What do you like to do to keep fit?

 

After two years at university, I’ve realized there are ways to get away from the dreaded ‘freshman 15.’ Living far from campus helped, as I was forced to walk fifteen-minutes 4 times a day. It was then that I realized that walking, as an activity, is nothing to scoff at. Mall walkers are seriously on to something.

 

I joined a yoga club on campus and practised yoga for a few hours a week. Though I’m still not as flexible as I’d like (I can’t touch my toes…) I think anyone these days can enjoy the calming atmosphere present in a yoga studio.

 

My goal for this summer is to teach our puppy to jog beside me. Wish me luck!

 

What’s your all time favourite training shoe?

 

For me, I’ve found the ASICS Gel- 1140s to be the most comfortable and responsive to my sad little feet.

 

What’s your favorite movie?

 

I have two favourite movies, and I give the same answer every time when asked this question.

 

1)      Last of the Mohicans---Daniel Day-Lewis, pre-’94…ooh la la

2)      Out of Africa----Robert Redford & Meryl Streep…ooh la la

 

What’s your favorite band?

 

I don’t think I really have one favourite band. If I could pick a favourite genre, or type of music, I’d say anything remix-ed or funky. Anything you could dance to, basically…

 

What’s your favorite post workout/race food?

 

Tim Horton’s chicken bacon club with a large chocolate milk. I just associate this with racing. I’m not sure how healthy it really is, but there you go.

 

Other than shoes what’s your favorite piece of workout gear?

 

My most comfortable pair of pants, my Sugoi Flare tights. They’re black, seamless and go with pretty much anything.
