Rules
1.
Maps
of the course are posted (on race day) and participants are responsible for
being familiar with the course layout.
2.
Participants
are responsible for knowing the number of laps they must complete on the bike
course and counting the number of laps they have completed. Volunteers
will try to assist but the final responsibility is the participants’.
3.
Helmets
are mandatory. Chinstraps must be fastened before getting on the bike
and must stay fastened until after the participant is off the bike.
4.
No
riding in the transition area.
5. Athletes
& Parents may enter/exit The Transition Area before and after their race
only when given verbal instruction by the race announcer.
6.
Participant
numbers must be visible from the front during the race.
7.
Parental
assistance is not permitted in the transition area or on the course.
8.
Bike
check is mandatory
9.
Drafting
is not permitted.
10.
The
Race Director reserves the right to limit the number of entries.
11.
PROFANITY
WILL NOT BE TOLERATED FROM PARTICIPANT OR PARENTS!
12. Swimming Aids are allowed for kids 5 & under only (water wings, pool noodle, life jacket, etc.)
13.
Race Bib # Must be visible when the child crosses the line.

2.
Chinstraps
must be fastened before removing the bike from the bike rack. Chinstraps
must remain fastened until the bike has been returned to the bike rack.

Participants
must rack their bikes in the transition area (9.1.2)
4.
Boys
must wear shirts or singlets during the bike (7.1.4) and run (5.2.4.8)
5.
Pedals:
i. Only SPD’s will be allowed for athletes
under the age of 14. The cleats just be recessed in the tread to all the
athlete to walk without slipping. Pedals need not be double sided.
ii. Athletes 14 or older may use
"Look-type" pedals and shoes
FAILURE
TO FOLLOW RULES IS GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION
